HFJ @ AFF '24: Interview with Dani Hurtado

Today we’re joined by Dani Hurtado, writer, star, and director of the short film Affogato, which screened at the 2024 Austin Film Festival. Affogato follows a struggling actress as she attempts to record an audition tape that begins to mirror her own reality. Tribeca 2022: “Three Headed Beast” Tackles the Complexities of Open Relationships

Polyamorous or open relationships are very common in the queer community, so when I got the screener for Three Headed Beast, I was ready for an emotionally complicated story. Three Headed Beast follows Nina and Peter, the two are college sweethearts and have been together for eight years. They both identify as bisexual, and after four years together decided to open up their relationship.

Film Threat Review

TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL 2022 REVIEW! The dramatic feature Three Headed Beast is the story of the joys and sorrows of a bisexual polyamorous relationship. Containing almost no dialogue, nearly all of the story is told in movement and body language, backed by an extraordinary soundtrack mix of classical-style piano and pop tunes as well. Written and directed by Fernando Andrés and Tyler Rugh, the film follows partners Nina (Dani Hurtado) and Peter (Jacob Shatz).
